Murayama UK Autumn Course     09-11-2008 Our second visit from Murayama Sensei was again a fantastic event. Around 140 students attended the weekend seminar, a number of them attempting a dan grade. Sensei was met at the airport by Sensei Steve Bolland who was very pleased to show Sensei his home town and dojo. Steve also took Sensei on the famous ferry across the river Mersey to the city of Liverpool. Returning to Worcester, Murayama Sensei was met by Sensei Phil Powell and enjoyed a meal with fellow senior instructors Sensei Steve and Brian Jarvis Sensei. The following day began with the black belt exam. Sensei Phil and Sensei Steve took the Shodan Ho exams while Murayama Sensei oversaw the Shodan exams. After lunch Sensei first seminar was on Daien-ryu Jo jutsu. This was enjoyed by all in attendance and always challenges the students. That evening many students gathered for dinner where Murayama Sensei awarded the Dan grade candidates their new black belts and menjyo. The following morningbegan with a kata seminar on Bassai Dai with a detailed look at the bunkai (application). The second seminar saw Sensei using his specialist knowledge in Nanban Sattoryu Kenpo. Everyone from kids to adults love this seminar! All too soon the weekend was over and Sensei left from Heathrow airport and flew direct to Japan for the WKF world championships and a meeting with the WSKF.
